1. DECLUTTER

De-Cluttering should always be the first thing in refreshing your home.  During the year most of us collect stuff.  We have extra things that don’t have any purpose in our daily lives.  We should get rid of unnecessary things. Declutter your cabinetry  and closets, shred those papers that we don’t need to keep.

I always believe that if you haven’t used it once in that year, it’s time to get rid of it.  Get rid of it by donating, selling it or tossing it.

Organizing your closets. Create a designated space for each item. This makes your life easier when you know where your things are. Everything should have a home and a purpose in your space.

2. FRESH LINENS

Freshen up your sheets and towels by cleaning them or swapping them with new ones.

3. PILLOWS

Change up those throw pillows for a different feel in the space.  Warm textures and deep colors for the fall and winter season and lighter materials and lighter colors for the warmer months.  This helps keep the space feeling new and fresh.

Tip: purchase pillow covers. You can cover your existing pillows in seconds and create a new look.

4. PLANTS/ GREENERY

Let’s freshen the air with oxygen giving plants into your home.

I love plants.  My husband and I have a hard time not buying a plant or two in a nursery when we are supposed to just “Look”.  Air quality in your space is also very important in your home not just the look of the space. Plants bring in texture and warmth into a room.

5. ARTWORK

Tired of seeing the same artwork?  Display something different on that wall.
