De-clutter your home this year! Doesn’t that sound nice. It’s music to my ears. Who doesn’t love a clean and organized house? I know I do. Creating an organized environment will give you peace of mind. I also believe it will help you stay on task and live a more relaxed and smooth life. When things aren’t in it’s right place or you can’t find what your looking for doesn’t it make you feel overwhelmed and frustrated and feeling your loosing precious time? Let us get out of that rut and do something about it.
Here are a few quick steps on doing just that
Have a home for your stuff
Closet shoe boxes and hanging storage units makes everything organized. Creating a luxury closet feel of your own. (IKEA- Skubb Series) Folding and hanging your clothes.
Shelving and storage drawers
These sectionals are great for any room and even a laundry room or arts and crafts station (IKEA-Algot Series) Customizing them to your size and requirements. Labeling those pullout drawers. When you take something out of the drawers you will put it back were you got it from.
Use Dividers
Dividers are a clever way to make a little home for everything. (IKEA-Kuggis series)
I Love organized drawers. You can see were everything is. Everything has a home and a purpose. Not just having stuff, but that item should have a purpose a reason why you even have it.
If you haven’t used it, lose it
If it’s in good condition, donate it. There are many organizations that would pick up your stuff including furniture.
Boxes w/ labels
Boxes w/ labels are great for filing in your office.
(IKEA- Fjalla Series)
KEEP, THROW OUT, & DONATE.
I know this all looks and sounds good, but you ask yourself ” Where do I start?” I would start with one room at a time. Don’t try to do the whole house at one time. It might get overwhelming and you might quit. That’s not good. I don’t want you to do that. One thing at a time. I’m also talking to myself also. LoL! I do the same thing and then I have to step back and tell myself one thing at a time. You might be able to do the whole house, but start with the first room and then the next. Schedule a time that your going to execute and Do It!
Go through your stuff and separate from KEEP, THROW OUT, DONATE.
Another quick tip: Loosing your keys? Create a dropping zone at the entrance. So when you walk through the door drop your keys there. You will always know where they are. No More Loosing Your Keys.
Happy De-Cluttering!!
