As we get closer to school opening , we are asking ourselves if we should keep our kids home until this Pandemic diminishes or send them to school in the Fall. Many of us are deciding to home school our children or doing virtual schooling. Now what? Where should we have our schooling in our home?
You are wanting a set area in the home for the schooling to be done. Having a designated space for a child to be able to focus and get their school done without any interruptions is a must.
I hear ya! I’m in the same boat. What I have for you today is some design tips and ideas while designing this space for you and your children.
Where do you start? What do I need? Here is a simple list to follow
What you would need for a study station
1. Desk
2. Desk Chair
3. Shelves or drawers
4. Lamp
5. Organizers for pencils, papers and etc…

Creating a space for your children can be quite fun. Choosing a style, color scheme and to select decorative components that bring that space some personality.

There are many wonderful stores to browse through like Target, Amazon and Ikea. You can’t go wrong . They have many wonderful and affordable products.
Have a custom area like a long wall or an alcove? How about build your own desk unit. Customize it to your exact needs.
Here’s the Steps
- Select your top from laminate or wood top
- Select your base from shelf base, drawers or crates
- Wall Decor– What would you like on the walls? A map, black board / or black board painted wall, and /or shelving.
- Select your Chair
- Select your light from desk lamp, wall sconce, or floor lamp.
- Bring in color from area rugs, pillows, plants and and fun organizing pieces to reflect your style.
