One room I feel like we over look is the bedroom. This room is very important. Most people spend the most time in this room due to sleeping. You should feel calm and at peace. This room should not be filled with clutter. When this space is organized, clean and comfortable, you will feel more at peace. Have that Zen appeal!
The aesthetics to a good design bedroom are
Mood
your space should have the right amount of light. For Instance, task lighting are great for when your laying in bed and reading a book, and over head lighting for when you need that extra light. I suggest creating a statement with your overhead lighting with a decorative fixture. For instance a nice and dramatic chandelier in the center of the room. Give your room some style. Spot lights are also important. These lights will help display artwork nicely on your wall. Also a must, include dimmers to these fixtures. You need variations of lighting. Color is also important. Choose colors that will calm the mind and body . Colors in the blues, greens, violet and white family.Comfort
your bed is an investment. Invest in a great spine support mattress. Your sheets should be comfortable and made with materials that are good for you to breathe in. I came across a company that stands by that philosophy. There towels are made from Hemp and there bed sheets are made from 100% cotton. Absolutely no toxic chemicals are used in there products. Hemp fabric is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-microbial with anti-odor properties. Super comfortable, breathable and gets softer with every wash. Hemp is also eco-friendly and provides rich nutrients back to the soil. Check them out! Click on Picture below.

Quality
Quality is everything in designing. Investing in good sturdy furniture and well made sheets and window treatments will last so much longer then have to buy furniture all the time because of poorly made. Your deciding on quality, but on what pieces to go for quality, I would definitely invest in a well made mattress and sheets. Anything you will sit or lay on. Everything else is up to you in what you would like to spend.
Air Quality, very important. Enjoy lighting candles in your room? Swap out those chemical candles and choose candles that are made with non toxic material like soy and bees wax. It’s better for the air quality and also better for your body.
Plants are also great for air quality. I came across this amazing online plant company. These guys specialize in real quality plants for your home. Check it out. Check out Leon & George.
