Hey Everyone! Welcome to my blog!  I’m Andrea, I’m a mom of 2 lovely girls and an Interior Designer.  On my blogs I like to give helpful design tips, design inspirations and DIY and my recent projects.

You have decided to buy a console table or credenza to fill up a empty wall. Now what? Now you are asking yourself, “How do I style the empty surface?”  I got you! Here are quick guide on how to style your console table.

How to style your console table

1. AnchorCreate a focal point. For example add a mirror or piece of artwork. Center it over the console 6″ -8″ height.  Anchoring helps bring in the rest of the objects together.
2. Height: Displaying different heights will gives the table a visual interest. You can choose items like lamps, plants and vases
3. Layer:  Fill in the space creating a visual interest and depth. Choose items that reflect your style and personalize it like a picture of your children, or books of interest or even greenery.  Make it reflect you. You can choose items to give some texture like different metals, woods and patterns.

Note: Work with odd number of objects by balancing  it with both height and depth.  Layering gives depth. Even though I like everything symmetrical, you can bring in interest by creating a more asymmetric look. Which gives it a more modern look.  Have fun with it. Personalize it. Let it tell your story.
